+# Public Architecture
+
+AGX Open contains only four public concepts:
+
+1. **Device** — selects a supported execution backend.
+2. **Buffer** — stores input or output data.
+3. **Kernel** — describes a user-supplied computation.
+4. **Dispatch** — runs a kernel over a requested number of elements.
+
+The bundled reference backend executes kernels on the CPU. It exists for education, testing, and API experimentation. It does not reproduce the private AGX engine.
